Why do my contact lenses burn when I put them on?

Any how, I did and I only covered it with a paper towel. When I tried putting them on the next day they burned so bad I couldn’t even open my eyes to take it out.

If you use too much solution, like have them completely soaked in solution for days, can it put pressure on the lense, expanding it, or making it less of the lense shape and flatter? Just a thought!
